Shame

Hidden Weight of Shame

For my iniquities have overwhelmed me; they are a burden too heavy to bear.
Psalms 38:4 · BSB

You have been carrying the sting of shame longer than you admit. It has taken its toll on your sleep, your work, the way you speak to your spouse, and even the quiet moments when you think you are alone. The cost is more than a bruised pride; it is a heavy burden that steals joy and blocks the flow of grace.

But the Scriptures remind you that shame does not have to be your final word. God calls you to lay it at the foot of the cross, to let the truth of His forgiveness replace the lie that you are unworthy. When you bring the hidden weight before Him, the same power that raised Christ from the dead can lift you from the pit of disgrace.

Read these too

  • Then I acknowledged my sin to You and did not hide my iniquity. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the LORD,” and You forgave the guilt of my sin. Selah

    Psalms 32:5

  • Do not be afraid, for you will not be put to shame; do not be intimidated, for you will not be humiliated. For you will forget the shame of your youth and will remember no more the reproach of your widowhood.

    Isaiah 54:4

  • Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

    Romans 8:1

Take heart

You are not condemned beyond repair; the same God who sees every flaw also offers a way out, and He invites you to step into the freedom that comes from honest confession and divine mercy.

Pray this

Ask God to reveal the specific shame that holds you captive and to grant you the courage to release it into His loving hands.
