Losing a job

Beyond the Empty Paycheck

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, to give you a future and a hope.
Jeremiah 29:11 · BSB

You have been counting each day without a paycheck. The loss reaches beyond the bank balance: it steals the rhythm of your mornings, the confidence that work gave you, and the quiet assurance that you could meet your family’s needs. Bills pile up, a spouse hears the worry in your voice, and the future feels like a fog you cannot see through.

Yet the same God who steadied the Israelites when the desert seemed endless promises to meet your needs. He invites you to place your trust not in the security of a contract but in the One who provides for every bird of the air. While you search for new doors, let his peace settle in the places anxiety has occupied, and let his guidance shape the steps you take toward the next opportunity.
