Depression
When Darkness Shadows the Soul
Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why the unease within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise Him, my Savior and my God.
You have been feeling the weight of hopelessness for months, and the cost is visible in every corner of your life: sleepless nights, a mind that refuses rest, work that feels like a mountain, relationships that strain under the silence of your pain. The emptiness seeps into the moments you once found joy, and even the simplest tasks become burdens that drain your spirit. You know the price because it has taken your appetite, your patience, and your hope, leaving you wondering if the future still holds any colour.
But the same God who sees your struggle also offers a hand that does not abandon you. He is close to the broken-hearted, and his comfort is promised to those who are weary. When you are crushed, his mercies are new each morning, and he invites you to lay your burdens at his feet and find rest. The invitation is not a vague promise of feeling better, but a real invitation to share your load with a Savior who bears it with you, even when the night feels endless.
Read these too
The LORD is near to the brokenhearted; He saves the contrite in spirit.
Psalms 34:18
Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
Matthew 11:28
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.
2 Corinthians 1:3-4
Take heart
You are not alone in this darkness; a compassionate presence walks beside you.
Pray this
Ask God to grant you the strength to reach out for help and the peace that passes understanding, even amid the storm.
